FINASTERIDEis a drug approved to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). The FDA requires that the drug be prescribed by a licensed doctor who specializes in male pattern hair loss and has experience treating other conditions like enlarged prostate and hair loss. It works by inhibiting the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is a hormone that shrinks hair follicles and causes balding.
DHTis known to contribute to a range of sexual health issues, including male sexual dysfunction (impotence or erectile dysfunction) and premature ejaculation. It is not known if finasteride, like minoxidil or clomiphene, treats this side effect.
Finasterideis the only drug approved by the FDA to treat male pattern hair loss and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It is available as a generic medication, but the FDA has required the brand to include it in their product labeling.
works by blocking the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, which converts testosterone to DHT. By reducing DHT levels, finasteride helps slow hair loss and promote hair regrowth. It is not currently approved for use in women and men with an enlarged prostate.

Propecia (finasteride) has become a popular medication in the UK. It is widely used to treat male pattern baldness and to help men lose hair. However, as with any medication, the risks of side effects can be a concern. Here are some of the risks associated with Propecia, including how to buy it safely and at an affordable price.
While Propecia (finasteride) is generally safe for most people, some men may experience side effects. In most cases, these may include mild symptoms such as headache, decreased sex drive, and decreased volume of ejaculate. In rare cases, more serious side effects can occur, such as a decrease in sex drive, difficulty achieving an erection, and changes in mood or behavior.
In some cases, Propecia may cause a temporary increase in blood pressure. This may not be a serious side effect, but it can be a sign that the medication is working as it should. It’s important to discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider before starting treatment. They can provide guidance on the best treatment options for your specific situation.
In many cases, side effects that are considered minor or harmless are relatively rare. In most cases, they are mild and temporary, affecting only a few people. However, if you experience any severe or persistent side effects, it’s important to seek medical attention immediately.
It’s important to note that Propecia may have other risks, including liver toxicity, and the potential for other medications to interact with the medication. If you experience any severe or persistent side effects, it’s always best to consult your healthcare provider for guidance.

Propecia is the brand name for finasteride, a medication used to treat male pattern baldness. While Propecia works by blocking the conversion of testosterone to DHT, it does so by blocking the conversion of the hormone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which is a hormone linked to hair loss.
It's important to note that while Propecia is effective in treating male pattern baldness, it may not be effective in treating the underlying cause of hair loss. The medication is also effective in preventing further hair loss due to genetics, which can be particularly risky for individuals who are trying to maintain their hair growth.
Propecia blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT in the body, which is a hormone linked to hair loss. By blocking the action of the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, which converts testosterone to DHT, Propecia can prevent further hair loss and promote new growth in the male body. This action helps to stimulate hair growth in the scalp and, in many cases, even regrow hair.
While Propecia is most effective for treating male pattern baldness, it can also be effective in preventing further hair loss due to genetics. In general, individuals who use Propecia regularly for more than a year or more are more likely to experience hair loss than individuals who do not use the medication. The effectiveness of Propecia is largely due to the fact that it can work by reducing the amount of DHT produced by the body.
In addition to reducing DHT production, Propecia also has another benefit: It helps to slow down hair loss by slowing down hair follicles at the site of the medication's absorption. This leads to hair regrowth and eventually to new hair in the areas at the top of the head. By reducing the amount of DHT produced by the body, Propecia can help prevent further hair loss and promote new hair growth.
Overall, Propecia is a medication that can help to slow down hair loss and promote new hair growth. However, it should be noted that while Propecia can be effective in treating male pattern baldness, it is not a cure for hair loss. It is a treatment that works well to slow down hair loss and promote new hair growth.
To use Propecia properly, you must take the tablet 1-3 times a day. It can be taken with or without food. In general, it is important to follow the directions on the package for the medication.

I have been taking propecia for male pattern hair loss for over 6 years now. Initially I did get some aching in the testicles which worried me, and felt a bit 'funny' at times but persevered and those effects stopped after a few months. My hair is still as thick as it was 6 years ago and the balding patch is much more effective than before. My husband and i men only lose 5-7% of their hair each year.
